Romford beat rivals Great Wakering Rovers 3-0 to lift the FA Vase at Wembley Stadium, marking one of the greatest moments in the club's history.
Boro scored twice in two second-half minutes to defeat their opposition, who also compete in the Essex Senior League. Hassan Nalbant's first of two goals broke the deadlock before Sam Deering doubled the lead on 54 minutes. This marked Romford's first victory in a national cup competition, 75 years after they lost the FA Amateur Cup Final in their latest Wembly appearance.
The win for Romford began a great day of celebration for non-league football, followed up by Gateshead defeating Solihull Moors on penalties 5-4 after a 2-2 draw in the final of the FA Trophy.
