Everybody at 1000GBP.com would like to wish a huge congratulations to Chesterfield FC, crowned Champions of the National League for 2023/2024!
The Spireites had led the league table for much of the season but confirmed their inevitable promotion back into the EFL (the English Football League) with a 3-0 victory over Boreham Wood on Saturday 23 March 2024. Club captain Jamie Grimes scored twice and Liam Mandeville scored early on in the second half to keep Chesterfield 21 points clear of Barnet, who sit in second place, and confirm their championship win.
9,907 fans were packed into the SMH Group Stadium to see Paul Cook's side, who have been top of the National League since 16th September, clinch the title. It has been a victorious season for The Spireites, led by former Portsmouth and Wigan Athletic manager Cook, and spearheaded by Northern Ireland international striker Will Grigg. Chesterfield will play in League Two in 2024/25 for the first time since 2018. No doubt non-league football will miss them, but we wish them all the best back in the Football League!
1000GBP.com is delighted to be a major supporter of non-league football across England, and we hope to see many more success stories from our beautiful game!
